SNOGO In The Wild
Hello Snogo Fam,

Some weekends are meant to be fully lived, and San Francisco Pride is definitely one of them.

The music is louder. The looks are bolder. Friends become family, strangers become friends, and the entire city feels like one big celebration.

This month’s SNOGO in the Wild comes from a San Francisco local who gave Pride weekend everything he had.

SITW Pride Parade

Let me begin by saying that San Francisco Pride is not a weekend for moderation.

It started Friday with dinner and drinks. Very civilized. Very adult. We were all going to have “one or two” and get home at a reasonable hour.

Cute idea.

One bar turned into another, someone knew about a party, and then we were dancing until late like Saturday’s itinerary wasn’t already completely unhinged.

By Saturday, the city was serving everything.

Flags everywhere. Music pouring into the streets. Gorgeous people (so many gorgeous men) in outfits ranging from fabulous to technically not an outfit. Friends were flying in, group chats were out of control, and every plan began with, “Okay, but after this…”

My SNOGO stayed attached to me the entire time. Honestly, it was the most reliable member of our group.

It made everything easier, kept us in the moment and definitely elevated the experience. My friends loved it, new people kept asking about it, and just like that, SNOGO became part of the weekend.

Then came Sunday: the Pride Parade.

Walking down Market Street with my friends was pure joy. Thousands of people were cheering, dancing and celebrating us exactly as we are. We were waving like minor celebrities, taking approximately 4,000 pictures and acting as if our feet were not already filing formal complaints.

For a few hours, the whole city felt beautifully, unapologetically gay.

After the parade, we went to a party. Then another party. Then the after-party. Then the party after the after-party, because no one in this group knows how to say, “This has been lovely, but I should head home.”

There was incredible music, nonstop laughter, old friends, new friends and just enough chaos to make the stories worth telling. It was one of those weekends where you stop checking the time and simply let the day, and then the night, take you wherever it wants to go.

SNOGO was right there through all of it.

And then Monday morning showed up with absolutely no respect for what I had been through.

There I was, back at my desk and staring at my inbox like it had personally betrayed me. Oh, honey.

Thankfully, I still had my SNOGO.

It helped me power through emails, meetings and several people asking, “How was your weekend?” as if they had four hours available for the answer. And at the end of the day, I went home and straight to bed to get much-needed sleep.

Next year, I’m doing Pride just as big.

The only difference?

Future Chad is taking Monday and possibly Tuesday off because self-care is important, and no one should be expected to go straight from Pride to PowerPoint.

Chad, not sure what we love more: the parade, the party after the after-party or the deeply disrespectful Monday morning.

This is SNOGO in the Wild.

It’s showing up as yourself, celebrating with the people who make life better and staying open to wherever the experience takes you. SNOGO may help elevate the weekend, but the music, freedom, laughter and community are what make it unforgettable.

Here’s to going all in, loving your people and living loudly.

And here’s to PTO.

Big Love,
AY
