Snogo in the Wild SITW December 23

Yo Ho Ho Snogoer,

It’s a crazy time of year and I love it! But this might be the first time I’ve sat down since Thanksgiving! And I’m glad I’m finally doing it, because it wasn’t until I just sat down that something TRULY AWESOME occurred to me; You know all the goodness and generosity that defines the “holiday spirit”? It’s not much different than our SITW spirit.

Think about it. During the holidays the whole world seems a little nicer. Strangers wish each other “happy holidays” and people go the extra mile to help those in need. Well, that’s what you guys do All YEAR LONG! And we’ve got the SITW stories to prove it.

I just looked back at the archives and, sure enough, nearly every single SITW story has included an act of kindness and generosity. Check it out for yourself. Whether Snogos were being gifted or new friendships were being made, your SITW stories were about spreading joy. And again, you do it ALL YEAR LONG! I’m so honored to share this beautiful journey with you!

Here’s December’s SITW edition. It’s a great story, and it shows that Snogo is the gift that keeps on giving.

Gift of Love

Check out my Snogo in the Wild tale! Big shoutout to AY for this one. AY, you’ve got my sincere gratitude. Last month’s SITW was all about giving, and that sparked the inspiration for my girlfriend’s Christmas present.

So, my girlfriend and I are stashing cash for a spring trip for this mind-blowing, albeit pricey, techno festival. Back in June, when we kicked off our savings plan, my savvy girlfriend laid down the law: “No birthday or Christmas gifts.” She’s the financial whiz, so her rules, right? I felt a giftless Christmas would be a bummer, so I spilled my feelings. Lucky for me, she’s amazing and compromised. Instead of nada, we set a $30 spending cap. Not ideal, but hey, better than zero. Or so I thought.

Thirty bucks isn’t a jackpot to work with. My girl’s a DIY pro, likely to snag a gem from a garage sale and turn it into the ultimate gift. But how do I make $30 awesome? Here’s the plan.

Giving + SNOGO = Eureka moment!

As a groomsman gift this summer, I got a Silver SNOGO and Snogo necklace. She’s crazy about it. If the budget terms allowed, I’d buy her one for Christmas. But here’s the twist: I’m gifting her my SNOGO. Yet, just handing over something of mine, which is pretty much “ours,” doesn’t feel like a gift. So, here’s the kicker. Last weekend, I snagged a $30 silver locket at a pawnshop. It was tagged at $40, but I pleaded my case and sealed the deal at $30. The tiny ring on top won’t fit around the SNOGO necklace, but our friend, the jewelry whiz, assured me she could swap it for a bigger one—for free. All that’s left is to pick a picture for the locket, and my fantastic gift is good to go. She’s going to love it! I thought the $30 cap would be a snag, but thanks to Snogo, my only issue now is that Christmas can’t come soon enough.

Cole, thank YOU! Snogo’s necklaces are beautiful, but I’ve never hooked anything but a SNOGO to them – which is ridiculous! Thanks for showing me the light.

Sending Big LOVE to everyone for the holidays. Happy New Year, be safe, get WILD! then submit your SITW story.
